From 2011 - 2026 - Facebook (Meta) provided special social plug-ins to enable folks to write directly on to a website wall or press 'Like' or 'Share' directly on a web page. We were so confident about the quality of our work and reputation, that we enabled clients to write ditectly on to a FB Wall on our FRONT PAGE.
Without any foresight or 'duty of care' to all those utilizing this excellent facility; suddenly it was no longer supported and failed to work. They claimed 'This change marks the end of Facebook's native social plugins on external websites, a move intended to shift focus away from these older, external integrations.' This is the usual kind of patronizing nonsense, which should
actually read 'having encouraged people to create an important online footprint through our platform; we just withdrew it one day because we actually don't care about preserving our client's histories."
If you're from Meta then please refute this if you can.
Fortunately at Harmony School, we created screen prints of all the comments before the plugin ceased to function.
